ActiveSG Tennis Court Booking: How It Works, Rates and Tips (2026)

By Zhanna Kapranova, Co-founder, ContentGenZ · ITF tennis coach and tennis content creator · 2026-11-06

ActiveSG tennis court booking happens on MyActiveSG+, the app and website you log into with Singpass. The short version: peak-hour courts (weekday evenings and weekends) are given out by ballot 14 days before the day you want to play, and everything else, including leftover peak slots, opens first-come-first-served at 12pm, 12 days before. A court costs S$3.50 an hour off-peak or S$9.50 at peak if you're a Singapore Citizen or PR, and you can book two slots a day. This guide walks through the timeline step by step, lists the venues, and shares the tips that get beginners on court without fighting for a Saturday morning slot.

I'm Zhanna, co-founder of ContentGenZ, an ITF tennis coach and a tennis content creator. We're running a beginner tennis programme for 15 to 25 year olds, First Serve, so we've spent a lot of time on the booking screen. Here's what we've learnt.

How ActiveSG tennis court booking works

Sport Singapore moved bookings to MyActiveSG+ in June 2024. Three things changed, and they explain most of what you'll see on screen (Sport Singapore, May 2024):

  • Singpass login. You sign up and log in with the Singpass app. It's one account per person, which was meant to stop people holding several accounts or using bots to grab slots.
  • A ballot for peak hours. Peak slots aren't a race at midnight any more. You enter a ballot and get a fair chance.
  • Pay with credits, card or PayNow. The release says MyActiveSG+ takes credit or debit cards and PayNow, and your ActiveSG Credits can be used on bookings.

Peak hours are 6pm to 10pm on weekdays, and 7am to 10pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Everything else (weekdays 7am to 6pm) is off-peak.

The booking timeline: D-14 to D-12

This is the part most people get wrong. "D" is the day you want to play.

When What happens What you do
D-14, all day until 11.59pm Peak-hour ballot is open for 24 hours Enter the ballot for the venue and time you want
D-13, by 12pm Ballot results are out If you won, pay by 11.59pm that day or you lose the slot
D-12, 12pm Unassigned peak slots and all non-peak slots open, first-come-first-served Be logged in at 11.55am and book
D-11 to D Whatever is left stays bookable Check for gaps, especially weekday afternoons

Source for the timings: Sport Singapore's MyActiveSG+ announcement. Sport Singapore told Parliament in July 2026 that the ballot does not take your previous failed attempts into account, and there are no plans to change it (MCCY, July 2026). Every ballot is a fresh coin toss.

Step by step on MyActiveSG+

  1. Set up your account with Singpass. Do it days before you need it, not at 11.58am.
  2. Top up or link a payment method so checkout is one tap. If you won a ballot, payment is what confirms the slot.
  3. Search for tennis, pick the venue and date, and look at which slots are marked for ballot.
  4. Enter the ballot on D-14 for peak slots. Then set a reminder for 12pm the next day to check and pay.
  5. On D-12 at 12pm, book any non-peak slots you want. Weekday afternoon slots are the easiest to get.
  6. Screenshot your booking. The booker has to be on court, so bring the phone you booked with.

The app's screens change from time to time, so the labels you see may differ slightly from these steps.

ActiveSG tennis court rates in 2026

From ActiveSG's individual rates page (last updated 25 August 2026):

Per court, per hour Off-peak Peak
Singapore Citizen or PR S$3.50 S$9.50
Standard rate (everyone else) S$4.60 S$12.40

The price is per court, not per person. Split a peak hour with a friend and it's S$4.75 each. Split an off-peak hour and it's S$1.75 each, cheaper than bubble tea.

The same page sets the booking quota for tennis at two slots per day per user, regardless of slot timing. So you can book two hours back to back, or a morning and an evening slot, but not three.

Where are the ActiveSG tennis courts?

ActiveSG's tennis facility listing shows 12 venues. These are some of them, with the addresses on the listing:

Venue Area Address
Kallang Tennis Centre East 8 Stadium Boulevard
Heartbeat @ Bedok ActiveSG Tennis Centre East Level 7, 11 Bedok North Street 1
Burghley Tennis Centre Northeast 43 Burghley Drive
Bishan Clubhouse Northeast 3 Bishan Street 14
Choa Chu Kang Tennis Centre West 1 Choa Chu Kang Street 53
Jurong West Tennis Centre West 20 Jurong West Street 93
ActiveSG Sport Village @ Jurong Town West 2 International Road
MOE (Evans) Tennis Centre Central 21 Evans Road

ActiveSG's own guide to where to play tennis also lists Yio Chu Kang Tennis Centre, with 9 courts and "visible from Yio Chu Kang MRT station", and Farrer Park Tennis Centre, which has 8 courts and 2 practice walls. Kallang is the biggest, with 14 courts.

Kallang is also where demand is highest. In August 2026 the government said it had asked the Singapore Tennis Association to optimise its court bookings, that national squad training is being consolidated at the Kallang Tennis Hub, and that "more courts" had already been released for public booking (MCCY, August 2026).

Rules that catch beginners out

  • The booker must play. The member who made the booking has to be present and part of the group on court. Don't book for a friend. (This rule and the next are from ActiveSG's answers on Ask.gov, cited in our beginner tennis guide.)
  • No cancellations. Once a booking is confirmed you can't cancel or change it, except in cases such as illness with proof. Check the weather before you pay.
  • Rain. ActiveSG has a process for slots washed out by rain. Check the current rain rule in the ActiveSG app or FAQ before you play, and keep a photo of the wet court in case you need to ask for a refund.
  • Haze. In October 2026, ActiveSG facilities closed during haze and reopened on 17 October, according to the advisory on ActiveSG Circle. Check the app if the PSI is up.

Tips to actually get a court

These come from booking courts for our own sessions, not from ActiveSG.

  1. Play off-peak if you can. Students and shift workers have an edge: weekday 7am to 6pm slots are non-peak, cheaper and open at 12pm on D-12 with far less competition.
  2. Go where others don't. Kallang and Farrer Park are busy. Heartland venues in the west and north-east are often easier on a weekday.
  3. Pair up and alternate. You and a friend each have your own two-slot quota. Take turns booking so you play twice as often.
  4. Book the 12pm drop like a concert ticket. Log in at 11.55am on D-12, have the venue page open and payment ready.
  5. Use the practice wall. Some venues have practice walls you can book on their own. Twenty minutes against a wall builds more consistency than an hour of chasing balls.

What to bring to your first booked session

A racket (a light S$50 to S$70 adult racket is fine to start), proper court or running shoes with flat soles, two litres of water, a towel, sunscreen and the phone you booked on. If you're new, our guide on how to learn tennis as a beginner in Singapore has an eight-week plan and a full cost table.

And if you're filming your practice, a phone on a small tripod behind the baseline is enough. Our roundup of the best UGC video apps covers free tools for editing those clips on your phone.

Want to learn with a coach and a crew?

If you're 15 to 25, have never played and want to learn alongside nine other beginners, apply for First Serve. It's six Saturday sessions with ITF coach Zhanna, you film your progress, and you keep the racket once you finish five of the six sessions. Supported by the National Youth Council Singapore.

Frequently asked questions

How many days in advance can I book an ActiveSG tennis court?

Peak-hour slots go into a ballot that runs on the day 14 days before play. Unassigned peak slots and all non-peak slots open for first-come-first-served booking at 12pm, 12 days before play.

How much does an ActiveSG tennis court cost per hour?

For Singapore Citizens and PRs, S$3.50 an hour off-peak and S$9.50 an hour at peak. The standard rate for everyone else is S$4.60 off-peak and S$12.40 at peak, per court per hour.

Can I book an ActiveSG tennis court for my friend?

No. The member who made the booking has to be at the court and playing during the slot. ActiveSG does checks, and you lose the booking fee if you break the rules.

Can I play at an ActiveSG tennis court if I'm under 15?

Sport Singapore said parents or guardians would be able to link children below 15 to their own MyActiveSG+ account through Singpass. For a teen, the simplest way is for a parent or an older friend to book and play in the same slot.
